Beauty, reviews

Gingerbread Spice

I have so much makeup just waiting to be reviewed (although, not waiting to be worn 😂)! Several eye shadow palettes, a highlighting palette and all the pretty lipsticks.

Here’s a peek at what I have coming over the next few weeks:

Tutti Frutti eyeshadow palette in Razzle Dazzle.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry eyeshadow palette (I did blog about its exciting release, but not much in the way of a review – except that it’s gorgeous!).

Tartlette In Bloom eyeshadow palette.

Tarte of the Sea Buried Treasure eyeshadow palette.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Volume III eyeshadow palette.

Morphe 35T Dope Taupe eyeshadow palette.

Sephora Collection Illumination pallet

Sephora Collection #lipstories.

I’m tired/excited just typing out that list! But I will have fun experimenting with so many gorgeous colors, and I hope that you will continue to join me.

Now on to the latest, limited edition pallet from Too Faced: Gingerbread Spice.

Still available at Sephora and Ulta. Click on the picture for purchasing info.

First, I have several of their delicious smelling palettes and I love each and every one. As I just said, they smell heavenly, so what could possibly be wrong with that as you’re going through your morning makeup ritual? That’s right, nothing!

I received the Gingerbread palette and several of their Melted Matte Liquified Longwear Lipsticks for my birthday. And yes, I was definitely feeling spoiled!

They are all gorgeous colors!! And the lipsticks are definitely long wearing. Not kiss proof, but long wearing.

I wore this for my birthday lunch and while it is slightly transferable on a glass, it is not that bad. Unlike some long wearing lipsticks, it doesn’t leave your lips feeling dried out. But you also don’t need to worry about it simply “wearing off.” Click on the picture for purchasing info.

Today was the first day I tried my palette. Okay, I just got it yesterday 😂. The colors look rich and highly pigmented, which I love. However, there is quite a bit of fallout with several of the shades. Too be honest, this is not something that really bothers me. I do touch up with all my products as I’m using them. The main thing I’m concerned with is whether the eyeshadow has staying power. There is nothing worse than creating a beautiful look, only to have it magically disappear before half the day is over.

The other, yet lesser issue for me is how much product does it take to get the color intensity that I want? Now I will say first that I like to wear my eyeshadows dark. My evening looks aren’t much different except that I add eyeliner and maybe more highlighting to my cheek bones. Having said that, I probably am more critical in this area than others who just want a touch of color and contrast on their lids. Regardless, some eyeshadows are going to achieve a richer color the first time more than others. For me, and because I love all the Too Faced palettes and want those amazing colors to show as much as possible, I tend to go over it several times with my eyeshadow applicator (I don’t use brushes on my eyes *GASP*). Long story short, I want my eyes to look professionally swatched, and to stay that way all day and night… not too much to ask right?

Give me all the pretty colors!

Now I will share my bathroom selfies of this morning’s look. Be kind, I need practice taking makeup pictures 😊.

I used Spiked Eggnog over my entire lid, Spiced Rum in the crease and just above it, and Ooo Burn between my eyelashes and crease.
